Roc Emissions

Post by CyberHawk »

Hi,

New to the forum, still deciding whether to buy a Scirocco or not. Anyone find the centre armrest a pain? When I did a test drive it kept getting in the road when changing gear. Also that it is a Euro 4 Emission Class with Euro 5 coming out later in the yr, is that going to affect resale?

Other than that and the rear visibility, I was really impressed, particularly the acceleration, much quicker than I expected!

So it is a bit of a problem with other people then? I prefer manual, feel less of a passenger. Gonna test drive it again, if its still a problem gonna have to look for something else :(

I've got a manual and not noticed any problems with the arm rest when changing gear - in fact I've even got the arm rest set on its extended setting so it's closer to the gear stick and still no problems.

what he said...either you have dangly arms, or the armrest is set forward..

Thanks for the responses guys, when I went out, the salesman didn't mention it had two positions, guess it was in the extended one. I am 6'3" so I have quite long arms :p

Bear in mind that :-

A) You can slide the top of the armrest backwards and forwards

B) The armrest locks in position and the only way to lower it fully is to pull it back completely upright and then move it to the lowest position

Try both of these and see if it fixes the problem as someone had shifted the armrest when i testdrove it. I only knew how to move it cause it works the same as the one in my Golf!

I'm 6'2" and have no problems with the armrest. You definitely need to check the position of the the armrest on your next test drive, but....surely you could put up with a little discomfort for the sake of a Scirocco!

My armrest won't budge.

What's the catch? (or rather, where is the catch)
