Bluetooth gone missing!

Got in the car after work today and pressed the phone button to go to the speed dials and the radio just muted! Thought it was strange so pulled over and checked phone had bluetooth on, which it was. Pressed the set up button to see if the phone had unpaired itself and to re-pair the phone and the telephone menu is now missing! Got in too late to ring dealers so does anyone know if I can sort it myself or will I have to take it back to dealers?

i dont think you can reboot the RCD, you can set to factory setting in the menu on it though, worth a try

Have you tried disconnecting the unit under your seat and plugging it back in, you can also do the same on the back of the RCD

There are faulty production fit Bluetooth ECU's for MY2011 and MY2012 upto build week 41, 2011. Fix is a replacement ECU.

On the part label, bottom left just above "Made in Germany", if its a problem box it will have a week/year date shown as & prior to "36/11". Date "36/11" onwards is where the improved box was introduced. Unfortunately post "36/11" are not totally free of problems either.

No recall. Just a bulletin TPI 2027682-03 - 06.12.11. No warranty instructions .

Bottom line is if its a dealer/factory fit, you take it in. Dealer will still have to verify with reports needed by VW (UK) before replacement is authorised for build week 41/2011 onwards (Part unit build 36/11 onwards as in my last post).
