RCD 510 Bluetooth

Post by Hannan »

Hi all,

I have a question about the Bluetooth on the RCD 510..

Basically I will be getting my Scirocco sometime in January and I've been told the RCD 510 does come with Bluetooth but does the Bluetooth allow me to use it to make calls aswell as to listen to music? I mean in the sense that if I am listening to music via the Bluetooth and my phone rings, will the call come out of the speakers and will I be able to talk and the other person will be able to hear me?

Thanks

My RCD510 doesnt have bluetooth as standard, but if yours has been added on, then yes, you will be able to make calls/receive calls etc through the cars speakers and the auxiliary mic (part of the add-on).

But if you've just been told that bluetooth is standard on the RCD510, then you won't, because its not standard.

Im sure its £345 for VW to fit bluetooth (my mate got it a few weeks ago).

Bluetooth is now standard on all Sciroccos that were ordered on or after 1st Aug 2011.

I have it and it works really well and as you would expect you can make and receive calls as well as streaming music. The RCD510 has a phone screen and there is also various functions operated via MFSW and displayed on the DIS

MFSW - Multifunction Steering Wheel (steering wheel with buttons)
DIS - Driver Information System (screen between speedo and rev counter)

When you press phone button, phone menu comes up.

It'll be clear when you get it and it'll do everything and more than you want

Sorry for that information there, I wasnt aware that it had became standard since August 2011. I assumed it was still just an optional extra.
