Gear indicator on MFD has became innacurate.

All of a sudden my wee thing on the dash that says what gear im in has became innacurate.

Gears 1 - 4 are fine, but when im in 5th it says im in 6th, when I go into 6th it stays at 6 unless i take my foot off the accelerator, then it goes blank (as if im out of gear) but when I press the accelerator again, it says 6th gear.

Also, when I take my foot off the accelerator the car seems to jerk (the same way it would if you dumped the clutch in a low gear.)

No idea whats changed, but it just started after I done needle sweep and alarm beeps with VCDS.
I never touched anything to do with the engine/gears or anything.

Custom map has been on for a few weeks... No jerkiness until I vagcom'd the Needle Sweep and Alarm Beeps.
