Need Tech Advice: Are 1.4 TSI parts compatible with 2.0 TSI?

Post by Wrecked »

Hi guys,

As some of you might have known from my last postings, I am currently in the midst of repairing my wrecked Scirocco 2.0 TSI DSG.

I have found a source supplying really affordable parts. However, these parts come from a wrecked Scirocco 1.4 TSI Manual.

Assuming my engine components and DSG gearbox are in perfect order, can I safely assume all other parts on the 1.4 Manual is fully compatible with my 2.0 DSG Roc? (Air intake and exhaust components are not crucial to me as they can be customized).

Quite a technical question here but I will appreciate any advice.

It depends which parts you are after......

Body panels - yes.
Electrics some won't be, particulalry some of the system controller ECUs (besides different level, production date will matter as well)
Suspension/chassis in the main but springs/shocks will have different ratings depending on its build date.
Lights - yes with exception of Xenon/Halogen depending if it was halogen originally and the donor is Xenon and vice-versa.
Instruments panel - no.

Its good in some but not ideal as a 2.0TSi would be.
