Hi All,
New to the forum. Picked up my brand spanking new Scirocco last week. 2.0 GT in dark oak, which by the way is an amazing colour, really happy with it. Anyway got the standard GT spec with the car and also got parking sensors thrown in. Im over the moon with the car. After careful consideration im thinking of changing the alloys for somthing in a different colour. Ive got the standard Interlagos 18" on at the moment but id like to change to something darker, maybe even black.
Does anyone have any suggestions where i should be looking and what wheels would look good with the dark oak
Also does anyone know of any decent places near Brighton where i can get them fitted as im new to all the car mods etc.
Having such a nice car im pretty tempted to start doing abit of work to the car. Any ideas where I should look at starting as i really have no idea? Are there many disadvantages of modifying the car in terms of insurance and stuff like that.
Thanks in advance

Re: Which Alloys
I read somewhere about that. Does it look good or can you tell if an alloy has been coated and does it last? How much would that cost roughly?

Re: Which Alloys
I have no idea on prices, but you can see here: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... oat#p86774" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - someone had theirs done for like £335.
But, I know there was a deal @ City Powder Coating in Birmingham and a few mates have used them, before. If you take the wheel without the tyres, I think they powder coat for £20 (special deal right now ending in December). I could be totally wrong, but that's what I'm seeing from their website.... http://www.citypowdercoating.co.uk/#!__price" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - go to the home page to see the £20 a wheel deal. Yours are 18's, so I think the deal would work for you.
Mine are a different set of alloys, but I've heard no problems with coating for rocco wheels.

Re: Which Alloys
Cheers for the advice. Ill look into getting them coated now i think. Just got to find somewhere local and reputable.
Re: Which Alloys
Only go aftermarket if the car has been lowered, it will look pure halfords on stock suspension, choose wisely as oak brown is a stunning colour, bronze Inters maybe and a wallop with the lowering stick

Re: Which Alloys
Next question then. Am i right in thinking that to get it lowered i will need to buy a set of springs and get them fitted. Probably a right stupid question but didnt know if there was anything else involved.wigit wrote:Only go aftermarket if the car has been lowered, it will look pure halfords on stock suspension, choose wisely as oak brown is a stunning colour, bronze Inters maybe and a wallop with the lowering stick
If that is the case can anyone reccomend which springs to buy?
And while were handing out advice any idea on a colour of alloys to go for to go with the dark oak.
Thanks

Re: Which Alloys
A simple search can show what the wheels look like on others, but dont think a brown has been done.
