What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Post by Deacon »

Have seen this thread on quite a few forums now but first saw it on VW Vortex so many thanks to them for the idea!

Basically post up what you've done to / with your Scirocco today, could be anything from gave it a wash, drove through the Lake District to sorted my insurance, had it lowered, etc

I'll start us off - I ordered a set of Winter tyres for mine today

Booked it in for it's first MOT (Free as part of the purchase; I bought it on Monday!) and also booked it in to have the bonnet resprayed after three years of stone chips.

Contemplated buying a Hatchbag for it to carry my dog in on some weekends. Anyone used them before?

Yup, link. You may want the optiona bumper flap. I used 4 shoe laces to tie the roll up when not in use. A very neat fit and stays in place. Well worth the money.

Drove to and from work, got stuck behind a truck that was stuck behind a moped on a country road on the way there. Really need to give it a wash soon, it's just finding the time and the right weather!

Hmmm good stuff.

I guess I was naive to think I could put it in once a month to take the dog for the weekend from my parents then. It's a permanent fixture until selling?

drove it to and from work, to the gym and local Asda. Then removed all my stuff ( things like road atlases, yellow waistcoat, overnight bag, 1st aid kit etc) from the car in preparation for its first service in the morning.

My 160 went in for its first service today (well yesterday but who's counting). With 18,600 miles on the clock and 3 weeks away from being two years old I booked her in for a first longlife service.

Not an interesting fact but as Deacon asks - What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Happy driving folks.

Not today but yesterday. Got my car back from the bodyshop (a car ran into the side of me at a roundabout  ). They've done a very good job of the repair but somehow the car feels 'different'. Might be a good excuse to get a new car

Couple of day ago went for a blast in the Brecon Beacons and ended up at Craig-y-Nos for an all day breakfast. Paddle changed all the way and then the obvious happened......................the wife wanted to drive home. Drat. ;)

I just threw caution to the wind today and........ looked at it. Then I thought about polishing the exhausts, then I thought about conditioning the leather and then I thought I might just look at it, again, so I did. It was emotional.
