Which VW Bluetooth?
Hey all,
Apologies if this has been covered a lot of times, but I'm unsure how you tell which VW Bluetooth module suits which car, as there are many different versions on eBay..
Could anyone recommend a way of confirming? I'm looking to get the latest in terms of features but I'm not sure where to go to ensure its compatible.
Any help appreciated!
My Roc is a 2010, with white MFD and I currently have a fiscon installed but the A2DP in mono leaves a lot to be desired!
Thanks
Maq

Cool, thats twice that unit has been recommended
I don't suppose you know what coding string was used to enable the functionality? Looks from reading other forums that it differs per unit version number :/
Thanks
M.

Thanks

Re: Which VW Bluetooth?
I don't currently, which might be an issue.. I've reviewed a lot of the coding requirements though, and a lot of it seems to be telephone prep/77 which I already have a fiscon installed so assume this is already done, and the other bits seem to be around voice activation which my car already has.
I'm not sure what other coding may be required, but looking to confirm

The actual BT unit that will need coding too though.maq wrote:I don't currently, which might be an issue.. Re: Which VW Bluetooth?
Do you happen to have any idea of the coding requirements, or any links that pinpoint what needs doing?
Thanks

Re: Which VW Bluetooth?
Thanks very much for this. Very interested to know what 'Voice Operation' is classed as.. I seem to recall reading one selection was if you needed the BT module to do its own voice recognition (ie, with RCD510) as opposed to letting RNS510 cover it all.

The option is there:maq wrote:Thanks very much for this. Very interested to know what 'Voice Operation' is classed as.. I seem to recall reading one selection was if you needed the BT module to do its own voice recognition (ie, with RCD510) as opposed to letting RNS510 cover it all.
Voice control inactive ticked - voice commands control RNS from the button on the steering wheel
Voice control inactive NOT ticked - voice commands are for the phone module only - and since you have voice control already for the RNS chances are you have a C unit with the star button top right that you press to start voice control.
I've gone with the phone being controlled by steering wheel, as I prefer to be able to say "call person x on mobile" rather than start navigating to phone etc.

Re: Which VW Bluetooth?
Thats really helpful, thanks.. I'd probably opt for the RNS voice control instead, as I spend most of my time trying to navigate music =)
