Are the wing mirrors heated to defrost ice as standard?

Obviously you have to select the heating option on the dial and note its only the glass not the mirror unit, so if you have the auto folding ones and there is ice build up in the mechanism remove this before attempting to unfold the mirrors !!

I leave mine in that setting all the time as it gets rid of the rain on the mirrors when driving, probably shouldn't leave it on though! :P

I use mine alot this time of year, but if you have the auto folding mirrors the passenger mirror doesn't drop on heat mode so once it's clear I flick it round to L

i leave it on L then flick round to heated when required. But always switch it back to L when demisted cos it uses up the battery otherwise for no reason.
