Sport mode issue
Hey guys.. Happy New Year or should i say Chinese New Year [:D]
Have any of you guys really tried the sports mode? I realize that when everytime when i switch the sports mode at some point when pressing the accelerator it will bounce back to lower gear (rev high at 5th gear then suddenly change to 4th gear) I dont quite understand why its doing that.. anyone facing the same problem?

Re: Sport mode issue
is this Sport mode in the DSG or the Sport setup from the ACC ?
Re: Sport mode issue
he's referring to how the DSG kicks down a gear in Sport mode everytime he does a hard accelaration.skyblues11 wrote:is this Sport mode in the DSG or the Sport setup from the ACC ?
I thought that's exactly what Sport mode does on a car with DSG!

Yup in DSG mode. But is it normaly when your at 5th gear then suddenly without lifting the accelerator it shifts down to 4th gear and over the red rev lines..

Sport mode issue
This is normal. It's what dsg sport mode does. Just like the normal D mode but everything is higher up the rev range and more sensitive.
I noticed It tries to keep you above 3000rpm at least as that's where the powers at. Probably more suited to no brainer driving on a track day.
Personally I prefer to just click the stick to the left and pick my gears without any annoying kick down when u don't want it. And that annoying lingering in the red line

Re: Sport mode issue
The rev stop is higher in S-mode, so naturally, if you are under rev stop when shifting to S-mode, it will shift down and rev up.. When reaching s-mode rev stop it will shift up again.
I dont think it is made for changeing from D-mode to S-mode during heavy acceleration. Shift to S-mode before and then accelerate to avoid strange "behavior".
OT:
Is the UK DSG box "mirrored" with the + and - modes to the left? On mine they are to the right (LHD car).

Re: Sport mode issue
i don't like the S mode to be honest. it drags on each gear for too long. it reminds of those old auto gearbox that too too long to upshift.
