Tyre Pressures

Post by andyd68 »

Within the next 2/3 weeks I'm going to fit my winter wheels and tyres to my 'Roc. However I'm not sure what tyre pressures to run.

Tyres are Yokohama W.drive 205/55 R 16

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

There isn't anything officially listed in the maintenance manual for the 16 inch wheel on a Scirocco, only 17,18 & 19 inch.

My tank flat only covers 17 - 19 inch.

Golf Mk6 for 205/55/16 is 32psi half load, 36psi full load. Thats from a tank flap label. This is for a 1.4TSi 160PS weight of Golf, same weight as a 1.4TSI 160PS Scirocco. So for diesel with the slight weight increase, I'd expect a little more on both readings.

Week 43 Build has happened on time! 22 Oct'09 Scirocco is at Check Point 5 in the factory
23 Oct'09 Now Complete on the dockside, 24 Oct'09 Sailed from Portugal, 27 Oct'09 In the UK,
29 Oct'09 at dealers
Driving 4th Nov. Sorted!

Cheers for that, I'll go for 32-34psi and take it from there.

I have the same issue, I want to check the pressures on the tyres fitted but I am not sure what they should be, gone from a 19" to a 17" wheel. What is the best way of working out what the pressures should be?
