Coming home lights & Bury Bluetooth

Post by slg »

Hi all

Despite changing all the settings and the salesman playing with them aswell, the coming home lights don't work on my car (yet). Also, I wasn't too keen on where the phone kit was fitted when i received the car - the display above the vent on the right of the steering wheel with the mic on the A-pillar.

Booked the car into VW at Linwood on Saturday morning, was in for around an hour and the technician couldn't find out why the lights weren't working either (calling VW tech to find out more on Monday). Also got fobbed off with lots of reasons that the car kit had to be placed where it was and nowhere else and that if I wanted the display screen moved to the centre console I'd have to sign a disclaimer as they needed to cut a hole in the facia! What a waste of time going in!

On the phone side, the nice man who used to own Cellphone in Hamilton came out this morning, moved the mic next to the glasses holder in the roof, re-ran the cables neatly & hidden behind trim, put the display on the centre console (where i can now reach it) without cutting or damaging anything. It is just laziness or are vw techs inept? Kind of looking forward to going back in now with the unit in the place that it couldn't be fitted in. :)

Now to get brighter headlights....

from what you say you have been through the settings in the convenience menu & set the time scales etc so apologies it may be a stupid question but have you flashed your headlights on exiting the car as per http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... hts#p32175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

shame about their poor excuses with regard to relocating the bury display but at least its sorted now

Thanks Trix, will give the lights info a try. Is this for every time I leave the car I need to do this or is just a quirky set up that will happen all the time from then on. Seems really strange, what's the point in giving you settings and then having to do this? My last car (E Class) stayed on when I left the car without having to flash lights first.

Wonder why vw never mentioned this?
