Passat CC Interior

Post by ABN1C »

I was just looking on the VW website and noticed the Passat CC has the Mark 6 Golf steering wheel, dials and heater controls. You would think it wouldn't have hurt to put these into the Scirocco as well? No doubt they'll arrive on a forthcoming facelfit.

Big shame the interior is from ripped from the EOS and the dash/steering is from 2004.

On another note I was at the launch of the new Golf at my local dealers last night, car did absolutely nothing for me but I did like the new dash/ac controls - if only they put this in the Scirocco - the center console of the dash uses white leds rather than the red we have in the Scirocco, the dials look nice too.

The Scirocco is a bit of a hybrid. The basic architecture is from the Eos, but some of the switch gear eg, the headlight switch, is from MK VI Golf. The Radio/CD is the new generation as on the MK VI Golf. The 'Roc gets white instrument lighting, the Eos had blue lighting and different graphics for the dials.

As someone coming from an Eos, to me the little touches make it feel different enough to be that bit more special. I really like the interior, and I absolutely love the chunky flat bottomed steering wheel.

It's a big question of economics. I guess they couldn't justify the price of adding the new mouldings to the rocco. Better to get 500,000 shipped out of the door in the passat and new golf by which time the price will have dropped per unit and then they can slap the dash and wheel into the rocco on facelift.

I actually really like the dash. It feels so much better quality than the BMW Z4 and 1 Series I have previously had and even my Dads 5 Series.

I do like the new Golf's updated flat bottom steering wheel and the only thing that annoys me on the Rocco dash are the out of place blue lights on the temp control.

I sat in a new Golf the other day - did nothing for me either, just another boring Golf.

Coming from a 9 year old car, the current dash looks great to me. I guess it'll look a bit old hat if you've been in golfs for a while beforehand.

Exactly, I had a 2004 MK5 Golf before moving on to the Scirocco, for me its a niggle rather than a disappointment, I really like the change to the White LED's on the dash.
