I am kind of glad I am not the only one that holds this view.
Prior to buying the car I had no knowledge of how bad they were. The salesman I dealt with originally and did the deal with was very useful and wanted the sale (obviously). But whilst I was on holiday and the cherished transfer was supposed to be sorted, he "left" the company very suddenly. After that the file was not looked at again and nothing done at all. I lost count of how many phone calls I had to make.
Since then I have taken the car to Lakeside VW in Stoke who, strangely, are part to the same umbrella group. Completely different attitude there though. Very helpful. Replaced my RNS510 stereo without question when it started acting funny. This latest problem is not a VW warranty issue and therefore I need Warrington to come through and sort it.
I move change jobs on Wednesday (recent development) and ironically will be moving to Warrington hospital of all places which is just round the corner. If it isn't somehow sorted by then, I will be "popping in".

Re: Volkswagen Warrington strike again!
When I went to enquire about buying a car from them I couldnt find anyone to talk to or a scirocco to look at. Looks like I got a lucky escape. Work in Warrington but bought from near where I live thankfully!

I must agree too about warrington vw, they are crap....
I took my scirocco for them to check problems with clutch judder, missfire when cold, fuel consumption, and bonnet alignment, and also not to wash the car when finished.
thay had my car over night, they said they will ring about 2pm when done but as i was in warrington i popped in to see how they were getting on......they bloody car was still in the same position as id left it, when i approached the service dept they said they are looking at it now.
Thus a further wait for an hour and a half in the office they came up with...
1, unable to find a missifire ( didint even look under the bonnet)
2, found no problem with fuel consumption (computer says no)
3, we are not a body shop so just looked at me vacantly expecting me to say fine
4, said they will not fit a new clutch as this will not cure the problem and are awaiting improved vw parts.
I will never use them again,,,, car curently at liverpool vw so wait and see how they get on

Re: Volkswagen Warrington strike again!
I have today been sent a satisfaction survey by a company called Ipsos who are apparently doing a customer satisfaction survey for VW - generally I love the car apart from a few niggling design faults, none of which would have prevented me buying the car had I noticed them all before purchase - but in the final comments box I did put, "VW need to sort their dealers out" and "better support is needed from VW UK when things go wrong".
I have had makes that have not really had a reputation for fine customer service, including Ford, Renault, Vauxhall and Alfa Romeo but all of them put VW dealers to shame, and the response from Alfa Romeo UK to sorting out a delivery problem really really puts VW in the shade.
No experience of VW Warrington, but from my experiences they're not unique - I had to go 200 miles before I could find a half way decent dealer - Listers of Nuneaton, and even then I had to put pressure on them to do what I would consider a normal turnaround for a PDI so I could take delivery, but a great sales team and a fantastic welcome when I went to collect the car.

:-o
This is definitley a thread I should not have read seeing that I have one of these cars already on order from the very same garage :-(
My experience so far has been unimpressive owing to the delays in getting back to me with build dates and being told its not 12weeks I have to wait but up to 20weeks!
Providing all 'goes well' I won't be going back to this garage for any follow-up servicing or warranty issues, I'll be using one closer to home. Only used this branch because they got me a better deal on the car that all the others I tried.
In defence of their poor operation I know they've been a bit upside down with all the work they've had done to do up their showroom recently.
