powersteering

Post by monkeyman »

Where is the powersteering fluid bottle? Ive been pulling off on full lock recently and the car is leaving a small trail of water behind. I know its been raining these past couple days and that is most deffentaly what the trail is but with the susspention problems ive been having recently I just want to be on the safe side.

There isn't one, its electrically assisted.

If it had been hydraulic PS, it would leave an oil trail, not water. Have you actually sure what the fluid is by touching/smelling it.

Thats what I thought. I just want to be sure. Its not shiny and there isnt any oil/grease leakage round the hub. With the car having go back the VW couple weeks ago to have the suspension looked at just wanted to make sure there isnt any leakage due to a pipe having been loosened or somthing.

I think its where the water collect in the scuttle because its been raining recently. And where the car is parked on a slight camber all the water collects in the corner and when I drive off get sloshed about and leaves a small trail on the floor. I considered the air con but I havent run the it for long enough to leave a trail a couple CMs wide and about a metre in length. Plus Its when I get into the car after a long period of standing, (12 hours)
