Alligator rim protectors

Hi all can anyone shed any light on alligator rim protectors or is anybody using them, Ive seen them mentioned elsewhere and there around £60 a set in various colours ect.
Are they worth it and do they do what it says on the lid.
Any comments appreciated.

yes ive looked there also but just wanted to know if anyone on here had experience of them or had them fitted.
