Buy a Roc now or later

Hello everyone,

I have done a a bit of internet shopping for a Scirocco 2.0 DSG :yes:
OPTIONS
- Metallic paint (black)
- Cruise control
- Electrically foldable mirrors
- Parking sensors

The total price has come to £21459 (including broadspeed fee) which is a saving of £1355. The build time HOWEVER will take till MAY :grumpy: I have 4 questions....

1. Will my local dealer (New southgate, North London) be able to match that price from your experience with your dealers?
2. What is are the APR rates you guys have been getting from the dealer on Hire Purchase?
3. Is there any way i can get a quicker build time than may?
4. Should i just wait longer to get a better deal? (i dont need the car desperately)

probably worth contacting user business manager on here - sure he ll be able to give you all the details that you need with regard to the best rates and route of supply etc. :nod:
there are a number of cars available now in the dealer network - just depends if you can get colour/spec to suit i guess...

Firstly, Welcome to the forum :D

I ordered my Roc via Broadspeed like yourself; When I ordered my car in Sept (pre financial meltdown) dealers generally snubbed their noses at any form of discount. However in the current climate, I'm sure there are deals to be had, and if not on the price of car, better finance deals.

I initially was going the PCP route, and requested a quote from Broadspeed. As you know Broadspeed deal direct with UK dealers, and I assumed their financing would be though the same network, however it isn't and once I received the offer I rejected it. The APR was 10.8%, which overall meant paying of £6k in interest over the term, and I also wasn't happy on some of the terms. Currently I haven't yet decided which finanical route to take, I've asked the sourcing dealer to provide me with a quotation, and I'll assess the market nearer delivery time.

Regarding build time, your right on with a typical VW timesales, be thankful you didn't spec a Pano roof, as this would push it back further. If you want a quicker delivery, drop the options. Some guys on the forums have managed delivery within a month picking up VW stock cars.

As far as a better deal, well there are plenty of used or VW sotck cars on the VW used car section, you could try haggling, and solve your delivery time query.

If you could live without the folding mirrors there is a black one at Cheltenham VW, 58 plate with 300 miles for £17,999. Cruise control and parking sensors can be fitted by the dealer for a couple of hundred quid each, although i don't think the retro fitted parking sensors use the display on the head unit. There are a few other around for a little more, you

As for dealer finance, the VW solutions packages don't appear to be very good. My dealer offered me 10.9 % APR although on the VW website it does list a cheaper APR deal for the Scirocco.

I found before X-mas a finance supplier who will do 6.9% APR with an intro fee. Even when taking the intro fee into account the deal still works out cheap compared to the others i have found. However I believe the interbank rate for January is 1.5% lower than in December so shop around and you may be able to get down in the low 6.0 % APR rate. I collect my car next week but still shopping for finance. It is easy to throw away money on finance so it's worth shopping around.

I ordered with Broadspeed after cancelling my original order with my local dealer. I was introduced to the new dealer by broadspeed within 24hrs of paying the Broadspeed fee and have dealt directly with the VW dealer since. They have been great, they have kept me up to date via phone and email, phoned VW customer care on my behalf, changed the spec when i needed etc..... Will give my final verdict on them next week when i take delivery which will hopefully go smoothly. I have saved a good chunk on the list price, as other have said when i initially ordered the dealers weren't willing to offer discounts, of course this has all changed now.

Buy used, there is a wide choice at stupid prices at the moment. You can get £5K off list price on a used one.....I did.....
