iPod touch connection

Post by chillipug »

This is bit of a saga!
Bought a new iPod touch mid January which has worked ok when connected to the 510 . [Mine also has the track stutter noted on another forum posting.] On Tuesday it stopped working and came up with the message "no audio files". [The iPod functioned ok when disconnected and yes it has lots of audio files]. It went back to dealer for another issue and was returned with the iPod working apparently. Well it was but the selection button didn't work and when the passenger door was shut it was back to "no audio files"[loose connection somewhere]. Car back to dealer when problem is diagnosed as new Apple software that is not compatible with the car! I am hugely sceptical. Apple says rubbish -the iPod is being taken to the Apple store tomorrow for a health check just in case.

Any thoughts. This new software is only around 10 days old and presumably came through ITunes as that is the only place I use for downloads. So any other iPod Touchs with this problem [or anyother Ipods]

That's dealer bulls**t.

Go back and get the dealer to sort it out. They'd be all manor of complaints if Apple updated their API to stop this sort of thing.

Chilli

might i suggest if you don't get a satisfactory resolution from the dealer trying another ipod in the car/trying your ipod in another car/trying another ipod cable in your car to find which has the issue to prove to them.

i connected my old ipod nano into the RCD510 yesterday...works great! Well impressed that it now shows all the music / track info when previously in my Golf / RCD310 it should nowt!

Will try connecting an iphone to see if that picks up all the audio files too.
