Clutch problem

Post by OpenMind13 »

Hello.

I have 1.4 TSI Twincharger. I have difficulty shifting into the first gear. I don't think it shifts how it supposed to into the second and third either but it's less noticeable. When engine is off shifter works smoothly so it's not a problem. Also clutch engagement point feels way too low. When engine is running I press the clutch pedal and shift into the first gear I feel resistance as I said, but if I keep clutch down and shift back to neutral and again into the first it shifts smoothly. Does anyone had similar issue? Which part of clutch mechanism might be the problem or should I just consider replacing clutch because it's worn out?

One more thing: sometimes, especially when I release clutch faster (but it should not count as excessively fast) I can hear a clicking sound. It happens when shifting in different gears, not only from first to second which is the roughest shift anyways.

Thanks in advance.

The "clicking" sound you sometimes hear is probably the electrical switch on the pedal, which tells the ECU when the pedal is depressed.
