Frozen Inside Windshield

Post by hakza »

Hi guys,

Its been really cold lately. Cold enough that my inside windscreen has been freezing these past couple of days.

I ran the hot air to clear my windshield and AC afterwords to attempt to remove the condensation. I went to check on it later just to see the condensation building up again inside.

I was wondering if this has happened to you guys before and what was the fix?

Sounds as if it's damp inside the cabin. Check your carpets are not damp. Personally I just keep the A/C enabled at all times, summer or winter and haven't had an issue even over the last week or soo where temps here dropped to minus 8.

One thing to note though is that the A/C compressor disables at low temps to prevent it freezing and if you only do short journeys then the car doesn't get a chance to dry out then you could get condensation.
