Head unit for r-line 2014 2.0 TSI

Post by drjack69 »

Hello all. First post after being a long time lurker. I’m considering getting a head unit with CarPlay for my rocco. However, I understand that the very useful mini map display on the MFD doesn’t work with Google maps/Apple maps/Waze/TomTom Go etc. so in the meantime I just want to update my map data. If I do that, is there any danger of it interfering with my remap? I may be being paranoid but I just wanted to check before doing it. Many thanks in advance for your help guys.

Updating the map data on the satellite navigation system will have no consequence on your remap, assuming you are referring to an engine remap. They are totally independent. The data on the engine ECU is not affected by updating the data on the head unit.
