Faded pink coolant after coolant flush

Post by Crucifixzz »

Just made a coolant flush today using G13 40/60 dilution ratio. It was clear a pink when I ran engine at idle for 20 minutes or so after I finished the process; however when I took out for a proper drive, the colour in expansion changed from clear pink to faded pink (colour of aged coolant). I'm wondering what has happened with my car.

Before doing a coolant flush, I noticed rusty coolant so I decided to flush my coolant. I had the hose running for 10 minutes or so until water is clear. Then I started filling distilled water mixed with G13.

You could buy a testkits for head gasket leakage.

Maybe it’s diluted with what remained in the system which mixed once the thermostat opened and water from the radiator and heater matrix mixed?

Maybe drain some out and top up with concentrate to balance the ratio out?

I let the thermostat opened to make sure old coolant got drained. Coolant is still faded pink. No sign of rust. By the way, I did leak test once and everything is fine.

Maybe replace it with VW genuine long life coolant. [emoji848][emoji189]
