Exhaust flap not operating

Hello

First of all i bought my first scirocco last week 67 plate R and i love it.
This forum has helped no end so thanks.

Now i know the flapper mod has been mentioned no end of times but mine isnt working or doesn't seem to be.

Ive checked all the vacuum lines and they are all intact so i dont think the previous owner did anything that way.

So from cold start the valve is open
I let the car warm up and its still open

Is that right as im not sure when its supposed to be open or closed?

Also could this be coded out and thats why its open all te time?

***update ***
Did a little experiment and strapped my motobike helmet cam underneath..... Its open at idle and as i gently accelerate it closes.. If i then floor it... It opens until a gear change were it briefly closes and opens again as rpm increases.

I know there are no replies but hopefully some info if anyone else has the same question.
