I want to buy a used Scirocco.
Manual.
I've seen one 2.0 cc but I do not know the consuption and I want an economic.
I read that has problems with their gearbox.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Economy is controlled by right foot. Smaller engine with less HP will mostly use less. But that is boring.
DSG gearbox problems is something from 10 years ago. My R has 85000km on it . no issues, i drove it like a car should be. Lean on it hard, full throttle upshifts.

Re: I want to buy a Scirocco
Thanks for the answer finetrond.
The car I want to buy is from year 2010.I don't have the money for a newer version and also not such a privilege to waste money.
So what you think about the gearbox of a 2010 model.
In few days I will have a close look at it and maybe I will have more information
to share with you.
Thanks again

Re: I want to buy a Scirocco
2.0 TSI with 65-70k km's for €7k is really good. I bought mine 2.0 TSI DSG with 63k km's for €11k two years ago.
The deal looks really good, but check everything properly. Also keep in mind that you will need to change the chain and the chain tensioners (the chain tensioner is known to break, the job is around €1000-€1500). I'm in the process of getting it done now

Thanks for the reply Zanic and the heads up for the chain tensioners and chain replacing.
I am doing research about the car and I am so scared of what I am reading and it makes go further away :/

Every car will have it problems unless you buy a Toyota or something
