Putting down the power at last, Michelin PS 4S
My fronts were due replacement so got some of the PS 4S fitted.
WOW I can get the traction light to briefly come up but power is uninterrupted and the car just grips and goes. Now making me think hard about stage 1 as i'd be confident they could put the power down.
I was 'testing' round a quiet roundabout today and the back actually stepped out as the fronts were still glued! The rears are Asymm 3's
Highly recommended to all R owners and reasonably priced if you search online.

I noticed an improvment when changing to PS4's also! They are brilliant [emoji16][emoji106]

I don't care what people say (mainly uneducated ones) but PS4S are the KING of tyres.

Re: Putting down the power at last, Michelin PS 4S
I've found very few negative reviews? Mostly pertain to tram-lining. Nothing of the sort for me, I was thinking today it is a beautiful tyre.
Could be the hot tarmac we are experiencing but I can accelerate properly now and the car feels faster for it, has me smiling and laughing hehe

Just be aware the smallest diameter they do PS4S in is 19". If you have 18" wheels you are limited to the PS4 or PSSS.Paradox1 wrote:Really?

235/35x19 PS4S is just over £140 at Camskill

More testing last night in country roads, yeup can NOT break traction in the R in first or second, a revelation.

Good tyres, aren't they? Only just had a set fitted to my R and still well within the breaking-in period, but they feel like proper boots at long last.
£140 a corner is a steal for these. Five stars, would buy again, etc.

Re: Putting down the power at last, Michelin PS 4S
Getting Rears fitted this weekend even though 6 + mm remaining on Asymm 3's you can really feel the car is sort of unbalanced with all the grip up front. You are meant to have the most grip at the back on a FWD, no the other way around!
Also no point in upgrading to yellowstuff pads if I compromise on the contact patch efficacy, just thinking in terms of emergency stopping power/wet etc.

Re: Putting down the power at last, Michelin PS 4S
VW state 35psi for 18" aswell but when the tyres heat up that psi will rise further. I used to run 35 and they prematurely wore in the centre slightly. Test and adjust for need i guess.
