Hi,
I'm trying to find a 4GB SD card which can be read on my RNS 510. I'm trying to copy files onto the HDD on the device. This means either burning DVDs, or copying via 2GB SD cards.
So far I've concluded the following work:-
- just about any 2GB SD card
- DVD+R
- DVD-R
- DVD+RW
The following don't work:-
- This specific 4GB SD card (NOT SDHC) http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... oh_product
- CDRW
- DVD+R (Dual layer) - fails to read after the 1st layer
- any SDHC card (though manual says these are not compatible)
Anyone else found a working 4GB SD card, or any other useful way to get music onto the HDD - it's frustratingly slooowwwww. In fact it's a joke you'd think it's be able to copy a whole 4.7Gb DVD in about 5 minutes, but it take about an hour!
At the moment, I'm resorting to using a 16GB USB stick and going via the USB port - easier to do!
Also does anyone know how to get the unit to play a playlist by default rather than the 1st MP3? - I've tried renaming the playlist, putting it a folder which is alphabetically first etc etc but no joy.

Re: RNS 510 compatible SD Cards/DVDs ??
I downloaded a manual for the RNS unit recently (cause I can't find the RCD version on-line) and I'm pretty sure it states that it will not support any cards over 2Gb!
P.S. Does anyone know if I can get hold of an RCD510 manual on-line?

You're right, the manual does say that. Though on the internet, I've found a few people who claim that some brands 4Gb non SDHC cards do work. Though in my case not the brand I bought!Spiney wrote:I downloaded a manual for the RNS unit recently (cause I can't find the RCD version on-line) and I'm pretty sure it states that it will not support any cards over 2Gb!
