The noise....CRINGE

Post by striker200181673 »

On my second scirocco now my first being an 09 red 2.0 TDI. Picked up a 64 plate metallic blue GT last month. One thing that is driving me crazy is the noise of the stones and grit rattling about the wheel arches and underneath the car. I cringe everytime and think of the damage it must be doing. I never had this with my previous Roc but think the wheel arches maybe had softer liner in them? It also seemed to be more "sound proof". Whereas this one, you can hear every single piece of debris due to the plastic liner. Anyone else experience this? Probably more paranoid with it being the early stages of picking the car up but WOW, it sounds awful! Wasnt sure if it was the tyres or if this is a common theme with slightly newer Rocs? Help??

mate - I totally know what your saying and I feel your pain. I have a 2011 Rocco R and I seem to hear EVERY SINGLE damn stone in the arches. Its HIGHLY annoying.

I’ve had mine for nearly a year, but only noticed this rattling recently. I’m hoping it’s just that the cold weather has stiffened the arch liners making them noisier. Never noticed this on other cars though.
