rns510 fitted

Post by RichZTT »

Just fitted a 2017 rns510 with SSD hard drive, I've noticed the built in fan still runs even after its turned off. Is this normal and could it drain my battery?

I would of thought it would only run on for a few minutes after switch off or when you pull the key out.

If it's running continuously then it will drain the battery eventually especially if you don't use the car much.

However, I think if you lock everything up and return to the car 5 mins or so later, you'll find the fan is off. Also remember today is one of the warmest days of the year

It does keep running sometimes after a long drive and it's heated up. Don't worry too much about it, as bob said, it just runs for a few minutes

I have lost some steering wheel controls functions and centre console no longer displays what music is playing, would I need to get vag com to recode this?

Yes, sounds like a coding issue.
