Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
Hey all
I've started to get a feeling my oil temp is running higher than it used to. Could anyone in the UK with a 2.0 TSI comment on what kind of oil temps they're running currently in this weather?
I swear mine used to top out around 102-103c and usually ram around 98-100, but I'm regularly getting 106-107 now in normal conditions.
Is this normal, or am I just losing my mind!
Thanks
M

Re: Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
Wondering if by that you're meaning water temp, which sticks at 90c if it's in a reasonable range?

Re: Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
Water temp gauge is corrected to display 90 over the range of actual 75 to 105.
With regards to oil temperature my 170 Tdi is normally in the range 93 to 104.

Re: Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
My 2.0 tsi ran around 90 until the miles racked up and when I got it remapped it climbed slightly. It used to top out at around 102. Then last year I went stage 3 and it would sit normally well above 100.
In this weather on the motorway it would sit around 110+.
I had an aftermarket engine oil cooler fitted by AKS Tuning they are a great garage. I got the cooler kit from HEL Performance but they are a bunch of tossers when it comes to customer service and professionalism.
It now runs around 90 (it has a 90°C inline thermostat fitted) and it only climbed above 110 when i was on track recently. It still reached 125°C though which would have been dangerous territory without the cooler fitted.
Also, Millers Nanodrive 5W40 oil would be better to use than standard 5w30!!

Re: Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
Just got home from work and during the drive I also thought about posting exactly the same as you! My car is a 2009 2.0 tsi which has done 54k! I of late average 105-106c whilst driving normally, so maybe this is perfectly normal?maq wrote:Hey all

My 2010 Tsi 210hp ran around 98-104
My 2015 220hp is 104-108 (but I've only had it during a rather warm month!)

Re: Oil Temp for 2.0 TSI
On some models there is the option to display it on the MFD. If you have it ticked to display, it's one of the parameters you can cycle through on the MFD, just like distance, average speed, average mpg etc...Iceash wrote:How'd you check the oil temp?
