'VW says will cease production of some conventional models to help fund development of electric cars & E-mobility'

The Scirocco has already been discontinued in Australia....the creator of this website has switched to a TT....there are no annoucements of a new model on the horizon, its still on the Golf Mk6 platform which is being discontinued everywhere (the mk6 CC ceased production today, ready for MQB version next year)....is our beloved Scirocco about to become a classic car!? (again)

It already has been said that they will not be developing a new version, there was a thread about a few weeks back

I have a Tiguan R for the wife, nice car, a coupe would be pretty interesting to be honest

It might well be nice, but hardly comparable to the Rocco, i don't want a lardy arse, high riding, crossover, faux 4x4 coupe

Saying that, there will still be plenty of 2nd hand Roccos for me on the market for the next few years

I know they're not developing a new version - just i can see production being stopped altogether next year, cars that are not on MQB are costing them and if they don't move them across then the inevitable outcome is axing the entire line.

It's going to happen sooner or later, and it's already had it's mid life facelift, so unfortunately its not going to be long till it's gone again a suspect

Regardless of the plate on the car, the rocco is pretty decent for what you get, looks and features. I guess VW just got to move on with the times.

And isnt modifing your car what we do to make it better lol

I'm tempted to sell my 6R and get a new Rocco R.. but knowing my luck it won't get discontinued and a new model will come out with the mk8 golf.

I'd like to see a final special edition, even if it's just trim and badges / stickers. Then I guess I wouldn't be bothered, if they came out with a new model after all. In fact, given my experiences with the 1.4 TSI and DSG7, I know I'm looking for drivetrain reliability first and foremost, so I'd be hesitant to go with a completely new platform anyway.

A "Storm" version would be nice and in keeping with the heritage, not that VW gives two hoots about heritage these days...
