Currently looking at a Rocco online, looks lovely,74k, 59 plate, 2.0tsi gt. just been chatting with the dealership and he says the 1sr service was at 35k, now that seems a long time to wait to get a service done, especially with it being its first service,
I'm thinking I should walk away and keep looking.
What do you people think?
Thanks in advance
Seen a Rocco, 1st service not done till 35k! Steer clear??

Correct me if I'm wrong but first service is generally 2 years or 20,000km I believe?

I've seen this before where the car is on a long life service plan and the owner thinks it's 2 years regardless of mileage. Normally happens with fleet and lease cars. If it was me I'd avoid as there will be others to consider. Don't rush, it took me 4 months to find mine!

It's whichever comes first so a car that's waited till 35k for a service is down to poor ownershiptommo79 wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong but first service is generally 2 years or 20,000km I believe?

35k miles is right on schedule for the 2nd longlife service. It's possible that the car could have been serviced at 18k but not recorded. You could call VW Customer Services as they have a record of all the work carried out on the car within any VW franchise.
Otherwise, as said, there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Very true I don't know who would buy a new car then not bother to service it, seems crazy in my opinion generally have some sort of teething problems with a brand new car that get sorted on the first inspection/service, Having owned 3 new cars over the past 3 years I know this from experience.deano_123 wrote:It's whichever comes first so a car that's waited till 35k for a service is down to poor ownershiptommo79 wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong but first service is generally 2 years or 20,000km I believe?
