Opened a box with a set of Eibach lowering springs in it, starred at them for a minute and decided I can't be bothered to fit them today.... Nice job for a day off next week!

Interested in this too. Did this 3 years ago after a helpful thread was made on scirocconet. I did lose the Sat Nav info on the MFD and speed camera's though.

Think my timing chain tensioner has gone or literally about to :(

No prior warning sounds or performance issues.

This will probably be expensive and is already causing stress and grief. Nice one VW

*long sigh*

oh no! :( Sorry to hear that!

How did it happen? No rattle nothing when you started the car? Whats the mileage on your car? Is it the original tensioner or a revised one? Hope you get it sorted mate and not too expensive.

Its a 2011 so im guessing its original, not revised.
My mileage is about 79k, i didnt hear or notice any noises or rattling or performance issues prior.
So it must have been weakened and finally gave up fairly quickly.

Luckily i am getting it recovered home by the AA and fixed nearby i hope.

Purchased me some 4pot calipers for my rocco.
Unsure of what colour to paint them though. the car is silver with standard interlagos alloys.

Any ideas on what colour I should do the calipers?

So today I finally got round to installing my Maxton Design splitter and as I had to take the bumper off to fix it (shout out to user @ryancooke for his guide) I also painted the grill gloss black to match (sanded, primed and painted - not a fun job).

Think it finished the front off nicely.

Everyone goes with red (myself included) but I think a bright lime green looks amazing (planning on changing mine soon). Send a pic when you've done them!

Unfortunately I am needing a timing tool to attach the crank pulley (i think its the crank pulley lol) before we can continue hopefully i can get one today or tomorrow.
Without it we cant get the lower timing case off to actually remove or fully inspect the tensioner.

Some fucking doughnut pulled out without looking and crashed into my darling scirocco :( :( :( :( :(..
I have a dashcam, so the footage is pretty conclusive. Got the driver insurance details as well - it was 100% his fault, but he barely speaks english so lots will be lost in translation. I am so so thankful for my dashcam right about now

Just picked my car up from its 4th service and mot.
No advisorys which is good.

Side note though. When I dropped the car off she said we will also perform a software update. I said no thanks as it will remove my remap that I have installed. Ok that's fine. There was No mention of the emissions update.. Just a software update.

Picked the car up today and she says no software update was done. And it states this on the invoice. But it states Ea189 NOX update . I asked about this and she said it was the softeare update. It wasn't done as it would remove your remap. But it is the emissions update. She said any car that goes in now for services etc will get the update unless the owner declines. In no way is it mandatory. So just a note for anyone not wanting this emissions update. It's being carried out on cars now unless you decline it.

Strange how they haven't sent any more letters out regarding this saying the update is available.
