Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Lo guys been a while but W & I are still here just busy !
Big week for Walter after my little brothers stag in Bournemouth last weekend & a round trip of nearly 1000 miles W was ready for his annual service courtesy of VW service plan & Eurocanterbury - with a shout out to Gemma there who is the best !
So new tyres required & opted for Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetrics - after ragging our works Mk 7 gti I decided these beauties were for me £115 a corner from black circles had them fitted this morning & a wheel alignment because well why not & handling & confidence are both through the roof !
Also decided that a new set of plates were in order so after viewing UKLees threat (thanks Lee ) ordered a set designed to fit in the front bumper recess from ProPlates - the front plate wasn't cheap but it looks amazing - decent photo to follow.
So basically all good !

Good question - just checked and they are 3's
The grip is astonishing even in the first 10 miles

Just wondering what they will look like compared to the 2's.

How on earth? Something must be up with my 210 TSI, I rarely go above 33mpg driving like a gramps, even had it as low as 15mpg in heavy traffic..Psycho Kirky wrote:

Fitted the dual strut bonnet kit, easy mod and very solid! Really pleased with the outcome
Then took a trip down Thorpe for a bit of wakeboarding, parked next to an impressively low Lupo!

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
I finally fitted my rear diffuser. I know they're not to some people's taste, but I like an aggressive rear-end!
I couldn't find one I liked for the 2.0 TSI, so decided to make my own using black polycarbonate. I wrapped the rear in black and then fitted the 'fins' in place. It's a subtle addition, but I like it.
Eagle-eyed readers might spot I also fitted new plates in-between photos. Didn't like the GB part on the old ones, so got some nice new ones with raised text.
Few more bits planned, so will keep posting!

How thick did you make these @RYANWOOD4 ? I'm interested in making a set for mine out of Perspex before it goes in to have a load of spray work done.

They're 14mm in width. I just bought a sheet and cut them to shape using a jigsaw, then sanded them down. Pretty easy job.Wadeya001 wrote:How thick did you make these @RYANWOOD4 ? I'm interested in making a set for mine out of Perspex before it goes in to have a load of spray work done.

Depends on wheels I think. I have 19" Lugano's and H&R's being fitted Thursday along with 12.5mm spacers all round. Speak to John at Wheel Traders as he will sort you out for a great price

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Mine went in for 1st MOT yesterday and to have the H&R springs and 12.5mm spacers fitted but apparently there is an issue with the rear spacers in that the bore is a knats cock too small without having to remove the dust cover from the hub so wont sit flush against the hub. My mechanic fitting the springs etc has advised against removing the dust cover to get them to fit so is machining the spacer bore slightly larger to fit and hopefully I will be collecting later todayrobinalex wrote:Zakuz wrote:Any advise on how far to go with spacers, been lowered on h&r springs
