Is this a fair price for a 2009 2.0 TSI GT DSG?

Post by logit »

Hi everyone, I'm currently looking to buy a 2.0 TSI GT DSG Scirocco and I've got my eye on a 2009 (09 plate) pre-facelift car. It's done 61k miles with full service history. Spec that I know of is as follows:

Black
DSG
Full leather
Parking sensors
Sat Nav (not RNS510 but older one)

Car is in good condition with recent new tires and a new manifold. I've negotiated a price of £8k. Does this seem fair? Are there any particular issues I should look out for. The DSG box was replaced last year under warranty to that seems fine.

Many thanks!

:)

Sounds almost too good, I paid 10k for mine with near identical spec and mileage just 6 months ago. Although it was an approved used vehicle from the VW garage with 12 months warranty and full VW service history.

The new manifold is a bonus too. I just paid £400 to have my manifold cleaned out due to carbon build-up which is a trait of this engine. That sounds bit of a bargain to me.

I agree with the other guys, it's a bit of a bargain for one with a FSH and average mileage.

The DSG requires an oil and filter change every 40k miles. Check what mileage the gearbox was replaced at to see when it needs done. Cost is roughly £200 from a dealer.

Also listen to the timing chain and confirm the tensioner is OK and there is no rattling.

Thats a bargain if straight but honestly if it sounds too good to be true then more often than not it is.

For your reference, i paid £8300 for mine a month or so ago - 2009, 59k, 2.0 tsi manual box in excellent condition with fsh.

It was far and away the best deal in britain for the car at that age and condition at the time.
