I get about 20 round town. 25 ish on a mixed run and about 34 on the motorway.

If I drive like a saint on a roads I can get 37mpg but it's very dull!

It's early days as my R is new, but so far I'm getting between 30 and 35mpg (on mixed roads). I'm hoping that will increase to nearer 40mpg as the engine 'beds in' and becomes more efficient. 40-45mpg was achievable in my 2.0 TSI.

The new R is a different engine setup though, so will offer efficiency improvements across the board.

I only got 37 out of my 2010 by driving in non stop average speed camera zones for almost 200 miles between 40mph and 60mpg with an occasional stretch to 70.

Normal 70mph cruises im lucky to see 32

I work off miles per tank

On a good long runs I will see 340-360 miles per tank

With town drive (what I mostly do) it ranges between 280-310 miles per tank

Mines sh*t, I can only see 28mpg on a run

get about 18-19 round town, which to be fair is what I get out of the G7R round the doors.

Ive got a suspicion that It wasnt driven hard before I bought it, which is why Im leaning toward driving cars hard from new.

Here's my long-term average fuel consumption.

Image

I've owned the car for three months and would say I drive it 'sensibly'.

I average 60 miles a day, mainly 'A' roads with very little start stop.

Most I've had out of a full tank is 380 miles. The least was around 320 miles.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised with it's economy considering what's on tap should you need it!

On a long run (400+ miles), my R will get 33mpg - 90% motorway (at 65mph) and 10% urban.

My long term average is 27.8mpg.

I got a new best yesterday...

37.1mpg over 450 miles: 95% of which was at 65mph on the motorway, remaining 5% was town driving. This equates to a tank range of about 448 miles which tallied perfectly with how many miles I had left before I filled up again (50 miles remaining, having done 400).

25mpg. Zeroed the reading drove 2000km on motorways, then in and round the city for and a few hundred more. I have a heavy foot and most cars have to be passed, preferably with a gear change at max rpm as i pass those slower cars. Petrol is fairly cheap in the PRC compared to Jurop and Ingland.

Long term is 30.1, long motorway journeys average between 34 - 38 depending on speed. Short term usually stands at around 28.

I'm getting 35mpg on a 8 mile trip to work, which I think is good for the R. Mind, I'm driving like an old man to get this. Normal driving it's more like 31 - 32 mpg on longer trips. Most I've had is 41 mpg sitting at about 60mph, very boring.

I've had it in the mid teens coming home from work, on a Friday, sun was out, beer was waiting in the fridge, you get the picture!
