Well .....

My car has been at the dealer for 8 days whilst I have been at sea. Managed to get back a day early late last night. Its now 8.20 am and I’m about to walk the ½ mile to the dealer to finally collect my Scirocco after all this time ....

Will post some pics as soon as I can.

enjoy chaps, 48 hours to go here before i join the club, the 1.2 engine in my corsa hire car is beginning to grate, all be it put up a sterling effort against a a3 yesterday through the twisty stuff and made me laugh (it will be toast next week), you do notice when you drive a normal runabout the little things like losing 120bhp, steering feel, suspension and ride and of course the braking ability (i now have a nice burning smell on the last miles of my journey home), not that it is a bad car

I too picked mine up today and it was well worth the wait even though it was like a monsoon in sunny Scotland today it was even a thrill to drive in the rain bring on a sunny day. For those who have bought the dynaudio system you won't be disappointed just turn that volume up

wullie636 might see you on the roads up here, I haven't seen a Scirocco yet other than the demo I drove. Taking mine to work tomorrow first day showing it around!

If I see you I'll be sure to wave!

Congratulations wullie636. I picked mine up yesterday. I too have the Dynaudio. It's the dogs dangly bits isn't it.
There seems to be a bit of discussion starting about it on another thread

Soon as I picked the car up had to go to work :grumpy:

So managed a meagre 5 miles before leaving her (or is it him!?) all alone again!

However managed a 50 mile drive after work just for the hell of it. I'm in Cornwall and it was raining (a lot, as usual) and it was dark but boy was it worth it. I thought my Octy VRS was fun but this is another level better - and I wasnt even going that fast. Can't wait to finish the running in period :D

My first time with a DSG box - kept reaching for the lever for engine braking when slowing down  but what a great system.

Ride is awesome, engine note muted but very pleasant, popping sound as DSG changed gear was fun. IPOD works well, everything works well! Dynaudio is great, terrific sound.

No piccies due to pants weather first sign of the sun I'll take some - have left camera in the car just in case.

Next week am on leave, planning on travelling to Hampshire then Essex then Hampshire then back to Cornwall so should put some miles on her (or him).

To rehmondo, silver, wullie and andy (and everyone else with one or about to get one) - hope your experience is as good as mine - and I'm sure it is (or will be :) )

That looks awesome in Black with the Tan, the door sills add so much more, I noticed the elect seats - nice!

A lot of people are looking for close ups of the Tan etc might be an idea to create a new Topic dedicated to your shots of the interior.

I am overjoyed with this car, can't wait to really put my foot down once the engine runs in.

Will add more, particularly of the leather, when time and weather allows.
