Air Con Query

Post by Roccobilly »

Daft question but I bought a 2009 rocco a few months or so ago, and notice that...

When the air vent is set to coolest setting (low), there is no difference in temperature whether air con is switched on or not. The air isn't particularly cool. Should the vents be blasting chilled air when air con is selected like in every other car with air con I've ever driven, or not?

I just want to 100% confirm before I get the mobile specialist out that's all.

Hello Roccobilly,

I also had this problem, after getting the garage to plug my rocco into the diagnostic machine it brought up 4 error codes with my air-con.
2 of them were with a sensor that was fixed under warranty
2 unfortunately were due to a compression unit (From what I can remember), this was not covered under warranty, so its going to cost £380+
After speaking with the VW dealership they did comment about there being a common fault with something air-con in rocco's
My air-con was filled up 3 times after everything was taken apart/sent off/refitted and still is not working correctly.

I would if I were you, before you just get them to refill (which im not saying it could just need a refill) get them to plug it into a VAG-COM (see if you live near someone with one on here) or something a little more beasty then just a fault finder/reader as this did not pick up any of my codes.

Thanks
Huttchy
