iPhone

Post by gc76 »

Has anyone connected an iPhone to the MDI connection in the scirocco. I took out a demonstrator and briefly tried to connect the iPhone via the MDI and it didnt work as the device was unrecognised.

Also, anyone with the BlueTooth in their rocco. Does the iPhone work OK with this.

Cheers ;)

yep it does work although the phone knows its connected to a non apple product and warns it may not work but just dismiss the message and it works fine. mines the iphone 3g 16gb. plays all my songs no prob.

i've just installed the bury kit being supplied by vw and so far seems a great bit of kit. i'll posta topic up soon

The VW Bluetooth Premium upgrade does not work with iPhone (or much else save newest Nokia)

Possibility that the current iPhone will support the BT kit with OS 3.0 later in the year. Not confirmed but worth considering.

Cheers for the info guys :)

I might not bother with the bluetooth upgrade, probably just put the money towards the 19" Lugano's when they are available.

Do you guys find the cable does not connect to the iphone properly? It plays music fine but it doesn't 'click' in like it does with my nano so it falls out very easily.
