Just spent the best part of 2 days doing the following:
Wash and chamois bodywork
Cleaned alloy wheels inside and out
Blackened tyres
Clay barred the bodywork
Polished bodywork with Autoglym Super Resin polish
Finished the bodywork off with Autoglym Extra Gloss protection
The finished article is amazing - well worth the effort! The bodywork is so smooth - never felt anything like it!!!
The rain on my car looked so good this morning.......

Re: Autoglym Clay Bar Kit
This is the stuff I use for the tyres - it's like a clear silicone stuff that you paint on with a brush. I've used lots and lots of different tyre dressings but this is by far the best and lasts the longest.

It's about a tenner but well worth it!
You'll have guns the size of a weightlifter by the time you've done a process like I did! Haha

Re: Autoglym Clay Bar Kit
Lool [FACE SCREAMING IN FEAR] that's why I'm ever so slightly dreading it lol
My arms were in so much pain after a simple wax, I used Autoglym Aqua Wax- so it should have been easy.. can't imagine the polish I'm about to face on Saturday! Like you said though, it's so worth it in the end.
Thanks for the link, definitely going to get it, I love my tyres super shiny!!

Ohhhh fancy that, might pop in there before I start! Thanks!
Good to have a routine, I def want to get into one.. Funny I actually only washed mine last Saturday, it's still pretty clean but I want it super shiny for the meet on Sunday [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
Think after this week I'll do every few weeks or so.. that way my arms get a good rest in between

Re: Autoglym Clay Bar Kit
Wow, that looks amazing.
I have just taken ownership of a two year old white Scirocco.
I have never "clay'ed" a car before but, based on others recommendations (and Halfords 3 for 2 offer), I have like you started to:
Autoglym Clay bar the bodywork, followed by
Polish with Autoglym Super Resin polish, then
Finish off with Autoglym High Definition Wax (rather than the Extra Gloss protection as you have)
Clay bar definitely makes a big difference - I thought the paint was pretty smooth before but after using the clay it feels almost like glass. The resin polish and wax finish it all off very nicely - the Extra Gloss protection might be as good or better than wax... not sure as I have never used. Another good thing about clay on a white car like mine is, it removes tiny black tar spots (it kind of rubs / lifts them off) more safely and effectively than when I tried either Autoglym Tar Spot Remover or a T-cut/colour restorer/polish.
Once the whole car has been treated, my usual routine will be to hand wash with Autoglym Shampoo and Conditioner followed by Autoglym Aquawax. I don't have shares in Autoglym, honest!- I just find their stuff works really well.

Re: Autoglym Clay Bar Kit
Hmmm contemplating 'claying' my car now... Not familiar with the process but it does sound like it does the car some good!
