Do you get a lot of turbo noise under boost?

Hi Peeps new member here.

First an introduction my names Paul and i've owned a 2.0 TSI GT DSG for just over a year and use it as my daily drive. I like the car it looks good and is a really nice motorway cruiser for my 50 mile commute all cars should have dsg it's great. I have a couple of other cars as well but they only come out in summer.

The only issue i do have is with the engine it may be me (first turbo car i've owned but have driven plenty of turbo diesels) but i find the car a little laggy and inconsistent. when the boost does come in I get an audible hissing noise in the cabin even on part throttle now i understand the wastegate is just bleeding off boost but it seems to have got louder since i've owned the car.

Is this just the way the cars are with the 2.0 TSI or do I have an issue. Any advice would be appreciated.

How old is the car? The DV probably needs replacing
