Hi Folks,
Took the plunge and bought myself the above.
I have a few questions about the car which I have listed in bullet point format if someone can help me - that would be great.
- Would this Rocco be a MK3?
- What model RCD would this vehicle have fitted 310 or 510? I presume the former, but how do I check?
- It didn't have the Media-Cable. Is this the right Manufacturer Part Num 000051446C. I presume this ONLY works with an iPhone/iPod. Is there anything for an Android phone?
- BT-Audio (BlueTooth Audio) is always greyed out. I can't seem to enable it ? Is this a limitation or firmware update needed?
- Can a smartphone be used or is that only available on later models.
Apologies if all these are obvious questions.
Sincerely,
Red.

Yes, your Scirocco is a MK3.
Probably a 310, but if it has the 6CD changer incorporated it's the 510. 510 has buttons up each side of the screen where 310 has buttons below the screen. Do a quick image search of RCD310 and RCD510 and you'll soon find out.
UK cars are supllied with 2 media cables, one for iPOD/iPhone and the other is USB. Sorry don't have the part numbers handy.
BT Audio is probably greyed out as it might not have the BT Module installed as it was an option. If it does have BT installed it will probably be an early version which only supports rSAP

Re: VW Scirocco 2.0 TDI 170BHP Dec2009 Model
Thank you Cuprabob for your response.
It does have a 6CD changer with buttons on each side, so it is a 510.
I will call my local VW garage and get that part number confirmed. Like you say it should have come with the iPod and USB cable, but the cables weren't in the car when I purchased it (2nd hand).
BTaudio is greyed out, so I am suspecting I don't have the module installed. Oh well, will live without it.
Best,
Red.

I seem to recall from my previous Roc with RCD510 that the BT-Audio was enabled/disabled from the radio SetUp menu. Mine did have the premium bluetooth though.
