This maybe really simple to someone who knows what they're doing lol. However, trying to remove the engine cover on a 2016 Scirocco R is proving impossible without feeling like I'm going to snap something. Could anyone help?

I've recently bought a 2016 Scirocco R. I'm looking to replace the exhaust system, however I've realised that the off-side exhaust is split into two sections when looking at it from front on. Can anyone tell me why this is, and would it have an effect if I was to replace it to just one whole exhaust...
