Parrot Bluetooth kit question

Post by greeper »

Hi,

My Scirocco should turn up in the next couple of weeks. I originally ordered the VW Bluetooth car kit but then having spoken to VW found out the VW factory fit Bluetooth does not work well (if at all) with Blackberries :( - So I canceled this. I have got someone lined up to install a Parrot kit, which ones would you guys recommend getting?

I would like it to look good and not get in the way of the window screen or SAT NAV.

Thanks

Thanks easybreeze -

I am interested in peoples' opinion on using a parrot system and if anyone has installed one - where was the LCD / controls located in the Scirocco?

I had a parrot kit installed last week, works very well through the speakers and people have commented that I come through clearly even at motorway speeds. The microphone is mounted near the light switches in the roof centre above the mirror. I have the LCD display mounted top right hand corner of NAV display just below the right hand air vent.

It would be great if you can post an image then I can hand it to the installer so he gets it in the right location.

I can pm you my e-mail address to send the photos of the microphone and LCD location.

This is how I had mine installed.
Very neat, no wires showing etc...

All,

My local VW branch is claiming my roc is not fitted with bluetooth, even though I can pair my phone, getting an error message saying the device cannot be paired properly.

They are offering a parrot system to me on the basis that the bluetooth is not actually available in the car.

Is this a good route forward?

If anyone can give me some assistance it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jamie
