Ding for a Ding

Post by adamj »

What would you do if you came back to your car in a car park and noticed a dent scratch where the car parked next to you had opened a door onto the side of your car?

I am in Ireland at the moment, luckily in a crappy Kia Ceed hire car (god I miss the Rocco so much) but parked in the hotel car park next to me was a VW Toerag, they were very close to me and it was obvious they had dinged and marked the hirecar, you could see it was new through the dirt and there door lined up with the mark.

Ok so I am in a crappy hirecar but its still the car I am in and the Toerag driver has no respect so I wacked my door into the side of it when I got in my car this morning.

Feeling a bit bad but if it had been my Rocco the driver would most probably be coming back to a shell!!

Would you of done the same??

I did mutter blo*dy VW drivers and drove off :D :D

If i was 100% sure they had dinged my car and I had parked away from everyone and left plenty of room for cars either side of me, I'd probably wait to see if they'd turn up, if not I'd leave a note and take a picture of both cars etc (camera phone) and take their reg :) and submit it to my insurers,

unless I witnessed it I'd be dubious about doing it to their car 1) you could be caught on CCTV vandalising 2) it could have been a genuine accident and they could have popped off to get a piece of paper to leave their details 3) I'd feel good for a while but then I'd feel pretty bad for lowering myself to their level.

When I as younger I use to be gun ho but luckily I have calmed down and think life is too short. its a car and yes £25 to have dent master come and pop it out is an exspense we dont want to pay its not going to break the bank either :)
Car is now Sold!!!!! BMW 7 Series for now as nice and big but holding out for something a little special as my toy :)
