Dipping Passenger Mirror?

Post by aedney »

Hi

Hopefully a stupid question - according to the manual, there is supposed to be a setting on the MFD to enable or disable the passenger side mirror dipping when going into reverse. Mine doesnt do that and the setting is not on my MFD even though the manual claims it is.

Neither my dealer, nor VW themselves have been helpful.

Does anyone actually have this on their car or is it another "manual" error?

thanks, Andrew

Theres a post on here somewhere about this . I think you have to have folding mirrors and Xenon's for this to work - Bizarre

Yeah you need to have Xenons for it to work, I think by having Xenons another module is added to the car for this to work, after speaking to 3 different garages, I got a reply after a day saying it's something that can only be done in the factory, not retro fitted or a software tweak/upgrade - in the manual at the bottom it does say some features are dependent on the electrical options chosen - not in those exact words.

PS regarding the manual there is a lot of errors and inconsistency, for example it will tell you the main bean and dipped beams bulb type in the title (H7) however when talking about the fog lights it's not consistent as it doesn't have the bulb type in the sub-section title, it then talks about replacing them but nowhere in the manual did I find the bulb type again I had to ring a service centre, the guy was very helpful and looked it up while I was on the phone.

FYI it uses HB4 bulbs for the front fogs.

thanks guys - you have at least answered the question, which is more than could be said of the dealer or VW themselves! Cheers!
