Picked up the new Roc Monday evening- it was dark & grey everywhere yet the 'roc gleamed brightly. I have no pics -YET- as the weather has been awful or Ive been too busy. (Also its exactly like every other standard green scirocco !!)
Its hit the ground running (no soft pampering) so here are my first impressions-- warning: not everything here is gushing praise........
Pros: Stunning shape and colour- the viper green paint is not for those of a nervous or shy disposition though!; proper sporty, hemmed in feeling once inside; yet really roomy inside and Im seriously impressed at the space in the rear seats; feels special and sporty; lovely, characterful TSi engine once its underway (glad I didnt get the diesel) with a proper soundtrack; QUICK- and thats while I keep it under 4k revs; I can already see great potential for good fuel economy despite no long runs yet; car audio with so many media options- brilliant!; super sharp to drive- yet smooth and refined when required- cant stress enough how good it is to drive
Cons: Famed VW build quality is no better than my last car (Hyundai coupe)- disappointed; engine sounds a little dull on start-up and idle; reversing slowly uphill (like into my drive) causes judder??; operating touch screen causes you to take eyes of road for too long- not good!; left lights on auto and have been driving around with headlights on since collection even in bright sunlight...why give an auto option if daytime lights are required???
I hope I havent been too negative, most are niggles which I will not even notice after a few weeks, and will come to appreciate the positives much more I suspect- especially the fun, characterful, sport and refined drive!
Oh, one more thing... it gets you noticed, especially in Viper Green!!

I've made the comment in another thread that as far as I can see VW build quality is something that's more in marketing than it is in the metal. Paint finish and panel alignment was better on my previous Astra and Megane. But like you there are a lot of other things I love about the car.viperoc wrote:Famed VW build quality is no better than my last car (Hyundai coupe)
No argument there! - The green paint and the black wheels attract a lot of comments on mine.viperoc wrote:Oh, one more thing... it gets you noticed, especially in Viper Green!!
