My viper

Post by 3t3p »

Been driving my new roc about three weeks now (I think!)

First impressions when I picked up the car were whoooooo viper looks awesome on this car! Everyone who has seen it has liked rather than disliked the choice of colour and it really has a presence on the road:)

Sitting inside I was really pleased to see the air controls were cylinder types rather than the 'old school' which I thought it would have, small detail but hey.
The RCD 510 is sick! Loving this with the dynaudio stuff like pendulum and muse just sound stunning, definately a MUST have option IMO. Got it crammed with six cd's already and got a 32gb SDHC card on its way to put my entire music collection in my car!:D More than enough bass, if you want more you are not really thinking about the balance in music I feel...

Rolling it off the forecourt I tapped the brakes and nearly flew over the handle bars! My 06 polo had good brakes or so I thought, this thing could stop on a dime! Really reassuring.

The ride: Dear god am I in my living room?! this thing is like an 'air hockey puck' I tell people, its so quiet and comfy in those scalloped seats, love it. It really makes a commute or a long drirve ( i took it back to Notts from London) seem like nothing! You look forward to being in the cabin again and again!

Pace: I am gradually revving more freely (under 3000rpm still) and it is obviously much quicker than my old car. Being a 122 I do have to 'think' about gears in that I can't be doing 10mph and expect to accelerate out in 3rd. I think when it is run in more, the power will be nice. The sound is well controlled sounding too.
My old car on the motorway at 83mph did 4,500rpm, this was at or just under 3000rpm at the same speed in sixth gear:D
All in all I am happy with the engine, got 375 miles out of the first tank, probably could get 400 to extinction. That includes a 142 motorway drive, lots of 50mph stuff and random trips inbetween etc.

Well it got dirty quite quickly, so today with my new Nilfisk C110, foam lance and Meguiars #16 Mirror Glaze wax I gave it a wash so I could proudly upload photos:)
Just a heads up, I found this wax fine/simple to use. Use a small amount and it comes off fine, lots of scare stories online of having to nearly use angle grinders to get off but they must have got carried away and applied FAR too much wax. Really pleased with the results. the tree bugs think it's a tree and keep landing on my car! oh well...

anyway here we go...

mate rising blue is fantastic don't worry about it!
it was the next colour on my list, avoiding generic silver at all costs:(

OOPs should I have blurred out my license plate? what are the repercussions lol

and what do I find in the boot hinge area today? little flying insects again that think its food, seriously I need insect repellant! will it be safe on my car hehe, or hopefully they will die when it shortly drops a few degrees

Just put your number on mine and blasted a speed camera at 140mph on the A556 - dont think the repercussions will be too serious for you!
