Break pedal position on DSG

Just picked up a Scirocco DSG.. It's the first DSG car I've owned although I hired a DSG TT for the weekend a while back. Anyone else think the break pedal is too high? To the point of being awkward. I have to have my seat back further than I'd like to try and compensate for it. Do you think this is something that could be adjusted? It's not something I noticed on the TT I drove.

Hmm - difficult to say really, I think it's possible yours is better than mine position wise. I've come from a MK5 GTI manual and no way did I have to move my foot up and back the way I have to do now on the Roc. I did a search and it doesn't seem to have been discussed anywhere before, although there is a roadtest that mentions the same, and that the tester had to sit further back than he'd like..

And no I don't think I was sitting too close before

Yes will do - although I'm not sure how noticeable it would be.. Seems safe to assume no-one else has noticed this then??

Not noticed any issue with mine, I regularly swap straight from my work van into the scirocco without issue. I never have to slide the seat back due to brake pedal problems.

I have to be honest with you I feel exactly the same way about my DSG brake pedal.

I have come from a MKV Golf DSG and the pedal was further back (not much though but enough to annoy me). I do now sit ever so slightly further back than i used to but the seating position in the Rocco is different and lower down than a Golf anyway!

Ive just got used to it now!

...I do for one think the brake pedal position shoud be interchangeable between the 'common' brake pedal position and the 'common' clutch pedal position for the left foot braking DSG owners amongst us!

When I was out on my test drive I kept braking like I wanted to go through the windscreen each time. I guess the position is normal on the DSG model.

So are you saying it was worse in the Golf? Or better in the Golf? I.E was the Golf brake pedal closer to to the floor? Which is what I'd like.. The only other DSG I've driven was a TT and I didn't notice the 'issue' in that...

I'd just like to be able to slide my foot across to the brake where as I feel I have to lift it up and back at the mo, but I guess I'll get used to it..

I think he was saying that its a different Car, therefore the seating position is very different.

I have most definitely noticed this on my Roc.

Has anyone spoken to their dealership about this? Can the brake pedal be adjusted?

I actually find the brake pedal extremely uncomfortable to use and don't want to move the seat too far back as this will put me too far away from the accelerator.

I did feel the same that the pedal is a little bit higher at first temp, but is okay for me now

I doubt it, although I've not asked the dealer. A google search does find someone else on another forum asking the question of their dealer though.. The answer was no it can't be adjusted. Just seems a weird piece of design to me. You do get used to it, I just don't see why it's set so far in front of the accelerator.

I have a DSG scirocco R and I really dislike the way the pedals are aligned.
Surely there is a way to adjust this?
