I use a USB Stick and the RCD510 will display in two lines, song title and artist. Have to edit the file info to the correct position to do it. Not used my RCD510 with Ipod.

Yeah - don't know about ipods but with a USB my RCD510 shows track, album and artist names.
I presume that this info is normally shown on your ipod.

Just sort it by Artist then? If its an iPod you can go "up a level" by using the button in the top right. You can then choose, Album, Artist, etc etc.

Its not the greatest interface in the world, but you will get it eventually.

Off the top of my head you can change what you view in setup' ie you can show all - artist, song, album - or just the artist and song. Have a look-see.
