Build week 25 question
Hi guys,
well finally got rid of my current motor so i can now relax and look forward to getting my new baby
I have a build week of 25 with an estimated delivery date of mid to end july, does that sound about right?
The next few weeks are going to seem like a lifetime lol, im like a kid at christmas at the moment and the thought of getting public transport to work tomorrow is not filling me with much joy! haha

Re: Build week 25 question
delivery estimate sounds pretty much bang on keep an eye on the anticipated shipping schedules to get a better idea of when it will get into dock

Re: Build week 25 question
Brilliant! So how does the shipping work then, will i need to get the reg number or something from the dealer after its been built to track it?
Re: Build week 25 question
we work on build weeks, for us its not an exact science on which ship it will be on but as previously shown we can give you a damn good idea. if you get an update from your dealer during your build week advising what stage its at it should give us a better idea of when in the week it will be finished.
the registration number is not allocated to the car until it arrives at the dealers it is known by your COM number until then & once its 'born' its VIN number but only VW can use these to track

Re: Build week 25 question
Ahh turns out its build wk 28, so does that still sound about right for mid to end july?
Re: Build week 25 question
uh no then, week 28 is 12th - 18th of July which is already mid july
there may be a slim chance to get it by the end of july but it would have to hit the shipping schedule just right, it will all depend on the ships running but i'd be thinking more along the lines of early August.

So Steve did you go for a new order then? Otherwise I thought you had a white one coming that was in stock or something.

Re: Build week 25 question
Na it wasnt in stock i dont think, just that a dealer had an allocated slot for one. Just winds me up when they say oh yeh mid july when theres no chance of that happening...
Its only been a couple of days not having a car and i feel lost already lol, gonna be worth it though

Re: Build week 25 question
Def going to be worth it. I have been bottling up all my frustration waiting for mine! Think I will explode soon!!! I mean how hard is it to build a load of cars there no need for these waiting lists in this modern day/age!

Re: Build week 25 question
I personally can't complain about my build weeks (The dealer mucking up the order is another thing..). But both my Sciroccos were given build dates very quickly (Build 19 and 27). Fingers crossed the Build Week 27 will happen on that time, but in honestly I want it in September for the new plate so won't be regsitering it till then anyway
